Nepenthe 1.0a
by Grant Guenther
•What is Nepenthe?
Well, i noticed that GraphicsConverter would choke on some formats (namely
by inverting the red and blue intensities for each color). I ran to a
dead end while trying to convert some .CLP files i had--the only program
(both IBM and Macintosh) that i could find that could correctly handle them
was GraphicsConverter--however, all my reds were blue, and all my blues were
red, and so forth. Note the simply inverting the colors doesn't help--
you see, the green intensity was alright, and inversing the color could
change that intensities
•What can i use it for?
Well...huh...it's a very quick and dirty, downright simple program...all it
does is swap blue and red intensities of the picture. It will only accept
8bit-or-less PICTure files (for some reason it gags on anything higher than
8bit...don't worry, i'm looking into it). So if you've had problems like
this with GraphicsConverter (or any other program), here's your solution.
Also, if you're an artsy person who wants image manipulation...here's an
idea.
•How much does it cost?
Are you kidding me? it's FREE. all i ask is that you somehow contact me
if you use this program. (see below)
•What bugs/undocumented features are in it?
Nothing much...only 8bit-or-less PICTures are usable...Also, i had hoped to
create an icon for the file so you can identify what file it is from the
DeskTop.
It has been throughly tested on my Mac LC ][...
•what else have you written?
too many to count. the notable ones are:
*Cloaker: takes and manipulates data and resources forks in a file
*The Bridge: A superior form of Hax and FileLift
*many, many more...
•How can i contact you?
